Interior Security CS Fred Matiang'i

Interior CS Fred Matiang’i and PS Karanja Kibicho have emphasized that they will continue keeping an eye at the Civil Registration Bureau (CRB) in Upper Hill until all changes regarding the issuance of birth and death certificates are implemented.

The two have always been at  the department on a daily basis including weekends, Matiangi said.

The move follows concerns raised by  citizens about the slow processing of certificates at the department’s ACK Bishop House offices.

Two senior officers from CRB have been interdicted and investigations into corruption in the issuance of certificates are underway.

Matiangi also asked Kenyans to work with the government to stamp out and defeat corruption.

Interior Ministry stated that intervention of Matiangi and Kibicho has led to radical  changes at the CRB, which include National Youth Service-manned desks with great hospitality, restrooms, clearly labelled counters and improved customer service.

PS Kibicho said that customer care desk will come in handy, since applicants will have assistance. He also added that they are upgrading the infrastructure of the facility so that sorting and searching for ready certificates is made easy, simple and accurate.
