Medical students arrested for faking abduction.

A teenage student from Kenya Medical Training College has been arrested for faking her own abduction.

The student was nabbed alongside her boyfriend according to the files at the Directorate of criminal investigations. DCI detectives said that the two and others were arrested at a Thika Road Mall are being interviewed to help in further investigations.

The girl was found at a party at the mall after the suspicious abduction was reported to the school and authorities.

She called her brother alleging that some strange people abducted her and were demanding Sh20,000 ransom to release her. The money was sent immediately through M-Pesa after which it went off.

Detectives then launched forensic trails leading them to the TRM and while observing their reactions. The boyfriend was picked by police to record a statement on the alleged abduction.

The lady switched on her phone after the boy friend was arrested. She clled her mother to lie that she had been set free and dropped at the Galleria Mall. On arrest, the detectives found out that the sh200 was still her Mpesa account.
