Aubameyang ready exit dismally performing Arsenal

Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has refused to engage  contract extension talks with the Gunners, hinting that he can exit the club as soon as next summer.

He won the Premier League golden boot last season and has once more scored goals this season, with 12 in 17 games so far despite the club’s miserable performance.

The skipper has 18 months of his contract left but his situation has club chiefs facing a dilemma over whether to sell him next summer – or let him enter the final year of his deal and risk leaving as a free  agent if there’s no improvement at the club.

The sharp striker, who cost £56 million when he joined Gunners from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018, is deeply frustrated with Arsenal’s poor performance and wants to win trophies.

Aubameyang has only the French League Cup and the German Cup to show for his colorful career as major club honors, is feeling that time is running out in that regard, as he turns 31 next June.

The club is fully aware of the player’s feelings and chose to make him captain after Granit Xhaka was stripped of the armband.

The Gabonese wants to be both competing for silverware and playing in the Champions League. Those are things that have been missing in his stint in north London and looks increasingly unlikely to be on hand next season too.

Arsenal is tenth on EPL table after their loss to Brighton on Thursday night in Freddie Ljungberg’s first home game as interim coach.

Arsenal have won only four of 15 league games this season, and Freddie’s page of more losses must be turned only if the club bosses step up their search for a permanent coach hungry to win.

The club is ten point behind the top four and they could drop as low as 14th by the time they kick off against West ham on Monday.
