Orange Democratic Movement is one of the biggest political parties in Kenya. Their middle name is ‘democracy’ but they serve ‘hypocracy’ that is because any deal that is slightly higher and sweet than their opposition place get their eyes off the prize.
They have traded their wins after every election they have seemed to have won. They are the guys who have defiled the same democracy they take pride in having created. Because if you trade your win it means you trade the people’s will. That is like cancer to democracy.
These guys have subjected the country to numerous amendments of the law but when they ‘grabbed’ closer to the power they completely forget to push for the same amendments. A person who forgets when his mouth is full is a greedy person, he is not serious. He is taking people for a ride.
This culture of taking for a ride is entrenched through crazy and weird beliefs by the orange brothers, rumours and crazy fables. These people believe that Raila Odinga would take the oath in Tanzania, assume presidency and get flown with the Tanzanian military, check into state house and govern?
These good people on top of that, believed that Raila’s elder brother Oburu Oginga would bring in troops from Russia and now since the handshake, they believe that ‘deep state’ will not allow Dp William Ruto to ascend to presidency.
With the clear writings on the wall they still burry their heads in the sand and ‘hope’ that BBI will pave their next path. This is because they believe that they are right all the time. They end up not learning even from their own mistakes.
BBI has crushed Odinga’s ego, politically it was time to go back to the drawing board but they are still sitting pretty. Their culture ‘enjoys’ them that ‘power’ will come to them in a silver plate because they are always ‘good’ and ‘right’.
Right now they are ‘over embracing’ the handshake because it gave their leader a job and they think President Uhuru Kenyatta will dupe Dp Ruto and endorse. He might not back Ruto, but Odinga. How can you except someone who has frustrated your party leader with retirement perks to back you. He has repeatedly indicated that you are too old, you should retire.
This is a party that is not in the ‘right mind set’ to lead the country. They are still confused; they don’t know whether to support or challenge the incumbent and many players have known how to ‘rent’ and mute them.
Look at them in the handshake they lost many friends and allies and only made one who was weakened in the process. With all those ‘bruises’, the ‘deep state’ that they don’t even understand is what is all they are left to bank their hopes on.
That is laziness, their think tanks only shine in landmark cases then resort to slumber land as the party makes great mistakes. A man who doesn’t work for what he wants cannot get it because he is lazy. It is very disappointing for an ‘enigma’ to expect the man he challenged to endorse him in 2022.
The culture in the party allows this fallacy to be the norm, now the same ‘crooked’ ways they have accused Jubilee Party of employing to win presidency is what they expect to work to their advantage.
How do you sit back and wait for what you don’t even know to work to your favour and the party supporters are kept idling with foot path tales that Baba knows what he is doing, he will do what he did Moi.
Times have changed; some techniques have become ‘obsolete’. The believe that some parts of Rift Valley are not with Ruto is childish. Ruto controls the heart of the Rift; he is winning in Mt. Kenya region and scathingly bruising Odinga in Western.
ODM is losing big in the handshake and BBI, it’s about time they defied their ‘culture’ and woke up to the reality.
