Afred Mutua dismisses Kalonzo, Muthama as Kamba spokesmen

Machakos Governor Dr.Alfred Mutua has dismissed Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka and former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama claiming that the two leasders do not speak on behalf of the Kamba community.

Mutua was aiming at Kalonzo whom he dismissed for being incapable of securing the popular vote to become the next president and can only be a supporter of another person.

This comes after recent remarks by Kalonzo who said he will follow President Uhuru Kenyatta’s political direction in 2022.

Mutua extended the swipe at Muthama whom he claimedis busy hawking the Kamba community to Deputy President William Ruto which he claimed would further reduce kamba voters a mere supporters.

Mutua was speaking in Machakos when he insisted that Kamba nation will not be ‘sold’ to the highest bidder.

“These two politicians do not speak for the Kamba community but for themselves and their own personal interests,” Mutua said.

The governor insisted that Kambas were tired of just being used as supporters of other candidates or communities to Statehouse.

However, Mutua praised the three like minded Ukambani governors for their leadership and said he was ready to work with them in his quest to become country’s fifth president.

He said that Governors Charity Ngilu of Kitui and Prof. Kivutha Kibwana of Makueni and Honourables Charles Kilonzo, Mutula Kilonzo Jr., Patrick Musimba, David Musila among many many others are focused men and women leaders from Ukambani region.

Mutua further to accused Kalonzo and Muthama of misleading the Kambas to advance the interests of Uhuru and Ruto respectively.

Mutua’s sentiments came just hours after Muthama declared himself the kingpin of the region.

Muthama also faulted former VP Kalonzo Musyoka for misleading the Kamba community after he announced his undying support to Uhuru in post  2022.

The former Senator had recently hinted that DP Ruto is best suited to succeed Uhuru when he accused Kalonzo of auctioning the region for his personal interests.
