A day after we highlighted the dirt ongoing at Huawei Technologies Kenya. Kenyanbulletin.com has learnt that that a petition is set to be filed in parliament to have a relevant parliamentary committee investigate operations of Huawei.
The major concern that is rulling this issue is the manipulation of winning major tenders through fishy means locking out other potentials.
The other concern is the realization of poor working conditions, poor pay, sexploitation and money laundering.
The petition seen by set to be filled has issues to do with tax evasion running into millions in undeclared customs, goods declarations during importation and suspicious bank transactions.
The petition to be forwarded immediately parliament opens also wants Huawei to give a list of all tenders it has been awarded in Kenya since it set foot in the country.
If found guilty by parliament, the petitioners want Huawei activities in Kenya terminated, and its local offices closed.
In an article that Kenyanbulletin.com did recently, we highlighted how local workers get poor pay compared to foreigners as they work under poor working conditions due to recurrent abuse and mistreatment from Chinese expatriates.
The workers are also exposed to sexploitation since senior Chinese managers ‘fiest’ on desperate African ladies so intense that they at times do their dirt in toilets or even inside their offices.
The workers also have their mobile phone accessories and handsets dumped.
Nonetheless, the firm is also evading taxes since that Huawei top managers in Kenya enjoy political protection in high levels.
