A section of Nairobi MCAs tell off Sonko critics

A section of Nairobi MCAs  allied to Governor Mike Sonko have come out to sycophantically defend him. The group has condemned Senator Johnson Sakaja’s remarks that Nairobi should be dissolved .

The accused the Nairobi Senator of attacking the governor and meddling into the county issues instead of focusing in his oversight role in senate.

Under the leadership of Nominated MCA Millicent Jagero, the legislatures accused Sakaja of doing business with the county nothing in an attempt to restore order and sanity in the city.

Sakaja together with other Nairobi MPs have questioned the stability of the county Government of Nairobi under the leadership of Governor Mike Sonko .

The group accused Sonko of teribly failing to bring Nairobi leaders together to deliberate on issues affecting their electorate.

Sakaja alleged that the county Government of Nairobi has a non functional executive. Nepotism, bullying, insults, intimidation, physically assaults and destruction of property has rocked the county assembly for better part of 2019.

The leaders requested to absolve the MCAs given the the difficulties in the environment where they operate.

They also questioned the procurement of the AAR insurance cover contract which they alleged to have been irregularly procured.

They further mentioned that after the unprocedural termination of Jambopay contract , Sonko’s administration single sourceda   Noveta company to perform the critical duty of revenue collection on behalf of the County government.

The MCAs allied to Sonko also questioned the interest of Mps in county affairs and asked the to stick to their oversight roles in the National Assembly.

Nairobi West MCA Maurice Gari claimed that the idling MPs throwing accusations at Sonko have no knowledge of managing CDF funds and are instead blaming the governor.

His sentiments were supported by a Karura MCA who said that Nairobi can only propers if the lawmakers joined hands to work with the Governor .

Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Beatrice Elachi could not miss. She defended Sonko by saying that he has shown efforts regardless of the hurdles on his way.
