Former Nairobi County governor Mike Sonko took on the Kenyan anti-graft body EACC days after appearing on the list of former and current County bosses on their radar over corruption allegations.

The former Nairobi governor was enlisted together with his former boss Evans Kidero, Samburu governor Moses Lenolkulal and former Kiambu County governor Ferdinand Waititu.

“High impact investigations finalized include allegation of illegal and unexplained wealth against governors Ferdinand Waititu, Mike Sonko, Evans Kidero, and Moses Kassaine…pending in court,” EACC chairman Eliud Wabukala told the Senate Committee on Justice, Legal Affairs and Human Rights on Tuesday.

Taking to social media in a rejoinder to the EACC Sonko noted that his quietness should never be taken for foolishness adding that he started owning properties way back while in school.

“Being silent is not being foolish kwani owning property in this country is a problem?

The former Nairobi County Senator questioned the motive behind the investigations, terming it selective as a number of past corruption cases have never been attended to.

“Being silent is not being foolish kwani owning property in this country is a problem? I started owning, buying and selling property when I was in school and before I became the Governor. Mutashangaa…… labda muulize hao wengine.

“Kwani what have you done to the former @EACCKenya boss who was involved in the Kemsa Covid Billionaires scandal?

What have you done to one of your current bosses who was involved in the grabbing of a County school playground in South C?…

What have you done with your former and current bosses who were involved in the fraudulent sale of Integrity Centre at an exaggerated price at the expense of taxpayers?” he posed.
