Media Personality Betty Kyalo and Comedian Eric Omondi has been cleared after they were accused of conning their audience.

In his statement after he was asked about the con allegations and why the show stopped, Eric responded by saying that the duo were just show hosts and advised his audience who were not paid to approach Big Quiz Limited.

He also revealed that the show had stopped due to technical difficulties experienced during the airing.

“Betty and I are just hosts. Any person who was not paid should approach Big Quiz Limited. We are just employees,” Omondi stated.

The Director of Big Quiz Show Limited Patrick Ojil issued a statement on Sunday, May 30, 2021 confirming that the show has been discontinued.

In his statement, Ojil also clarified that the hosts had nothing to do with matters payment.

“The big Quiz Show bears full responsibility for settlement of all winners’ dues and is committed to ensuring all the winners have been paid as per the Betting Control and Licencing Board (BCLB) requirements,” Ojil stated.

“It should be noted that two hosts for the show Betty and Eric, therefore, bear no responsibility whatsoever to any dues owed to any winner or any other contractor,” he added.

The company reverted by advising individuals who had not
received their awards to contact their customer service team.

The Show “The Big QuizShow” premiered on Sunday, March 21 this year. The first season was expected to run for 13 weeks with 100 winners every week. The top winner would bag up to Ksh.1 Million. However, that did not come to pass as it only lasted six weeks.

It was an interactive game show, which means that the public
could participate as the show was live.

As of last week, the show was not
aired. The sudden stop raised questions about what had transpired.

Shortly after, a lady claimed to have been conned. She
stated that by the time the show stopped airing, she had not received her
prize.
