Blogger Mutai exposes unexplained wealth of Tangatanga members

Blogger Abraham Mutai

A few hours after they lost their high seats in the Senate, ELgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and his Nakuru counterpart Ms Susan Kihika, blogger Abraham Mutai went on to Twitter to expose the uneplained wealth of the duo.

Through a Twitter thread and under the hashtag #UhuruFumigatesJubilee, blogger Mutai wrote:

Kipchumba Murkomen, former Majority Leader will soon have to explain to the SYSTEM how with a Senate salary, he was able to buy a house in Phenom Estate and buy land on Ndege Road, Karen where he is putting up a ksh100m plus house. We have the files as of now!

Murkomen is buying 200acres in Kachibora, Trans Nzoia from Pim’s family. Total value of these assets is worth over ksh300m; 6 times his salary. How was he able to buy all these assets? House in Karen, land in Karen and Kachibora. We have opened the files.

HIGH VOLTAGE INTELLIGENCE has confirmed Murkomen still lives in Phenom. He was to move to Karen but after Arror & Kimwarer, he has put off the relocation though the Karen house is COMPLETE. We not dealing with rumors. Gloves are off if you didn’t know!

On Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika, he wrote:

I have just received Susan Kihika’s file, she will explain how her husband Sam Mburu became the exclusive clearing agent for all SGR equipment during construction when his C&F company was briefcase only. We are not kidding and they both know this. In the file on my desk, Susan Kihika will need to painstakingly explain to the general public how her husband’s C&F company a briefcase company received Billions in Ksh paid overtime by SGR to the company. This is not a threat. This is an EXPOSE!

Unexplained wealth

Three days ago, the Supreme Court gave the Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) the greenlight to go after public officials with unexplained wealth.

Through the landmark ruling, the Supreme Court decision means that any asset held by a public officer and is not proportional to his legitimate source of income will be considered to have been acquired through corruption.

The Supreme Court made a ruling in a case that had been filed by former National Water Conservation and Pipeline Corporation Finance Manager, Stanley Mombo Amuti seeking to overturn the Court of Appeal decision requiring the public officers to explain how they acquired their wealth.

Amuti had earlier been served with a notice requiring him to provide a statement of his property as per Section 26 of Anti-corruption and Economic Crime Act (ACECA) 2003. EACC Chief Executive Officer Twalib Mbarak said the landmark ruling came at a time when the Parliament is considering Lifestyle Audit Bill, 2019.

All these political maneuverings inside Jubilee might be seen in this lense.

The machette is being whetted for Murkomen and his ilk, or not.

Yesterday, the majority leader of the senate Murkomen was relaced with West Pokot Senator Samuel Poghisio. This morning, the Political Parties Tribunal has suspended that post-election pact between Jubilee and Kanu which enabled their removal, citing non-approval by Jubilee Executive Council.
