- The budget was unveiled today in the Kenyan parliamentary house by the CS Treasury Ukur Yatani.
The jobless Kenyan Youth are the biggest winners in the budgetary allocations. Treasury CS Ukur Yatani has allocated 3 Billion to the Kazi Mtaani initiative in Budget 2021 Kenya.
The 3 Billion that has been allocated for youths is under the economic stimulus programme that has received a total amount of Ksh. 23.1 Billion in the Budget 2021 Kenya..
“We have in this regard set aside Ksh. 23.1 Billion in the financial 2021/2022 budget of which 3 billion is set aside for the Kazi Mtaani initiative,” he said.
Treasury CS Ukur Yatani stated that the Kazi Mtaani initiative has created more than 100,000 jobs for the youth since its inception of the initiative last year.
The kazi mtaani is an initiative where jobless youths are given a variety of jobs to do including swiping towns, unblocking drainages among other jobs. In the Kazi Mtaani initiative youths tend to receive around 450 -700 a day, an amount that is considered a substantial amount.
