The dismissal of ODM Director Wafula Buke last week is a revisit of an action that was deferred in early 2017.
Sources in the know say that Wafula and former Chief Campaigner for Raila are so close that they even share a girlfriend. It was discovered that Buke, through the said mutual friend was busy leaking information from Orange House to Owalo who was vying for the Party ticket against Rosemary Odinga before the latter fell ill.
It was the basis of the “dossier “ that Owalo used to launch public attack against the Orange party leader. Raila was mad on discovery that one his most trusted soldiers could so painfully breach that trust.
He instructed the ED Oduor Ong’wen to dismiss Buke summarily. It was Ong’wen who convinced Jakom that it would backfire politically with general Election around the corner.
Ong’wen also reminded Raila of Buke’s long struggle and suffering.
The decision was then rescinded. It is unclear whether the recent dismissal of the vocal activist has something to do with Owalo’s current candidacy in the forthcoming mini polls in Kibra
