Cabinet Pushes Meet To Oversee Class Eight Exams

The cabinet has pushed forward tuesday meeting to monitor the opening of KCPE containers across the county. The cancellation was confirmed by Transport Secretary, James Macharia. He said that the government is taking the examination process as an important exercise touching over a million candidates.

Macharia was addressing the media at Kigumo  Deputy County Commissioner’s ground in Kigumo, Murang’ a county. He said that senior government officials have been dispatched across the country to supervise the distribution of exam papers and opening of papers.

Education Secretary Prof. George Magoha is in Mombasa County where he called for integrity in exam administration.

Interior Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i is pitching camp at the Gilgil DCC Offices. Dr. Matiangi wished all the candidates success in their national examinations and assured all parents of heightened security details countrywide.

Prof. Belio Kipsang, Basic Education PS the Exercise in Kisumu, Najib Balala of Tourism is in Westlands, Nairobi and Foreign Affairs CS, Amb. Monica Juma is in Kitui.

Over 70,000 security officers have been deployed to provide secuirty for the candidates and distribution of papers.  Military choppers are on standby for quick ferrying of papers to areas affected by floods and regions with poor road network.
