Caroline Kimani Charged in Alleged Theft of KSh 30.3 Million From Ex-employer

A property dealer and founder of Vast Reality Limited, a firm dealing in real estates and property sales Caroline Waithera Kimani has been charged at the Milimani Law Courts for allegedly stealing Sh30.3million from her former employer, Cretum Property Limited.

According to documents filed in court, Caroline is accused of having committed the crimes on various dates between January 1, 2018 and October 10, 2019 at the company offices in Nairobi, where it’s alleged she stole the money.

She was charged before Milimani Court Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina.

However, she denied the charges.

“You are charged that on diverse dates between January 2018 and October 2019, at Cretum Properties Limited within Nairobi as a servant of Cretum Properties Limited, stole Sh30,307,618 the property of Cretum Properties Limited.” The charge sheet reads in part.

The amount she is suspected to have stolen came into her possession by virtue of her being employed as director of finance and operations in the company.

At the time the offences were allegedly committed, Caroline was working at Cretum Property Limited as the Director of Finance and Operations.

She pleaded not guilty and was freed on bond term of Sh900,000 or a cash bail of Sh00,000.

The case shall be mentioned for pretrial on 19th March 2023.
