Car and bodies in Likoni Ferry Tragedy Retrieved

After thirteen days, Kenya Navy and private divers have succeeded in pulling out the car that plunged into the Indian Ocean with the occupants, Mother and daughter.

Retrieving the car was the core of the exercise as its deemed as the most possible way of retrieving the bodies of Mariam Kighenda and her four year old daughter Amanda.

The delicate exercise was slowed by strong ocean currents and poorly viability.

Doctors on sight are inspecting the bodies and putting body bags before moving them to the morgue. The car will be moved to the nearest police station.

The government has laid out strict measures barring the public and media from taking closer pictures and sharing on social media platforms.
