Club De Place Bans Langa’ata MP Phelix Jalang’o

Kisumu’s controversial club de place joins the list of Luo  entertainment joints that have blacklisted Langa’ta MP Phelix Odiwuor aka Jalang’o over his political stand against Luo political kingpin, Mzee Raila Odinga.

Club de place and a handful of other entertainment joints that are now avoiding the first term MP like a plague. Jalang’o is temporarily not allowed at the premises because he was part of the team of Luo politicians who visited President William Ruto at State House, Nairobi, early last month.

The owner of club de place, Mr. Kennedy Angwen has chosen to cut ties with Jalang’o who is his personal friend because he cannot afford to betray Mzee Odinga and the ODM fraternity.

Ang’wen argues that Kisumu is an ODM zone and given that Odinga supporters are still bitter after the old man lost presidency to Ruto in August 2022, he will not Jalang’o to perform at the place or anywhere in Kisumu and Siaya counties. He also claims that he has been warned that Jalang’o is an UDA mole within ODM.

Jalang’o’s restaurant in Nairobi dubbed Wapek is also said to be recording relatively low customers since he officially ditched Odinga and declared his support for President William Ruto.  Raila’s followers who previously flocked the hotel are bitter as they claim that Jalang’o and his wife Amina Chao used the opposition leader as a marketing tool to promote his restaurant.

And Pit Stop Dala, another Kisumu based bar associated with Jalang’o is also suffering low customers since the Lang’ata Mp joined President Ruto. The joint has been forced to do frantic damage control in attempts to disassociate with Jalang’o and win its customers back.

The comedian turn politician was part of a team of nine ODM MPs and an independent MP  that visited State and pledged to work with the Kenya Kwanza government.
