Controversy surrounds Dennis Itumbi’s whereabouts

Political strategy consultant Dennis Itumbi

An emerging controversy concerning the whereabouts of vocal political propagandist Dennis Itumbi has rocked social media.

This is after reports emerged on Monday, 23 December 2021, that the former State House employee had gone missing.

From posts circulating on Facebook and Twitter, the former blogger who now works for Deputy President William Ruto was picked up by unknown persons from a barbershop in Thindigua.

In a subsequent update, Ruto’s speechwriter Eric Ngeno portrayed the supposed abduction as a possible arrest by secret government agents.

Blaming them for the incident, he further directed the Inspector of Police Hillary Mutyambai, DCI Boss George Kinoti and Interior CS Fred Matiang’i to immediately return their patron.

“You simply must return him safe and sound to his family, And this nonsense must stop,” he tweeted.

According to the unconfirmed reports, Itumbi was allegedly bundled into a saloon car outside Baraka Complex along Kiambu Road as he was getting a hair cut.

As of the publishing of this post, none of the government security agencies has confirmed custody of the digital journalist.

Itumbi, who openly supports Deputy President William Ruto online, has in the recent past been criticizing President Uhuru’s administration.

Last year, he was arrested and charged over allegations of authoring a fake letter that claimed there was a plot to assassinate DP Ruto over his quest to succeed Uhuru in 2022.
