Court okays Sarah Wairimu to attend Tob Cohen’s burial

Slain Dutch tycoon Tob Cohen’s widow, Sarah Wairimu Cohen on Monday, September 23, registered another win in court.

High Court Judge Stella Mutuku ordered that Sarah should be escorted to the Jewish Cemetery at 2 PM to attend her late husband’s burial

The court’s decision comes ahead of Cohen’s burial that is to take place on Monday, at 2 PM at a Jewish Cemetary on Wangari Maathai Road in Nairobi.

Cohen’s widow and his sister, Gabrielle Van Straten had on Thursday, September 2, agreed on four conditions ahead of the tycoon’s burial.

One was that Sarah, who is being held in remand before pleading to murder charges on September 26, was to be allowed to attend the ceremony.

On Wednesday, September 18, Sarah wrote to Chiromo Mortuary disputing the release of the businessman’s body to his sister for burial.

She argued that Gabrielle did have the authority to bury the departed Dutchman.

Cohen will be buried according to Jewish traditions in a private ceremony that will see only family members attend.
