Court rules out state protection for P.I Jane Mugo

A court Nairobi has dismissed an application by Private Investigator (P.I) Jane Mugo where she sought State protection. In her application, Mugo failed to convince the court on how she wanted to be protected.

DPP had urged the courts to detain Mugo at the Langáta women’s prison to ensure her safety when she claimed about her life being in danger last month.

Through her lawyers Danstan Omari and former Kiambu senior principal magistrate Brian Khaemba, Mugo said that it was only surving and alive God’s mercy and grace.

Her defence team further stated that Mugo’s clients are enjoying state protection while has not ebven a gun with her, it is was sophisticated by Firearms Licensing Board.

Mugo had earlier informed the court through an affidavit that her life was threatened by investigating officers in the case in which she is accused of threatening to kill two people.

In that affidavit, she claimed that threats to her life and her family began in 2014, she has reported to the police but that has never been dealt with.
