Two men have been sentenced to 50 years behind bars and a fine of 63million slapped on them by a Wajir court, for trafficking in narcotics.

On April, 4,2021, the two were intercepted at Athibool in Wajir county, ferrying 700kgs of the illegal drug to Nairobi. The lorry ferrying the consignment had been divided into compartments at the top, where the drug disguised as bags of cement was carefully concealed.
The second accused person Abraham Hassan who absconded the court session was sentenced in absentia and his Sh1 million bond was forfeited to the State.
Consequently, a warrant for his arrest was issued and detectives have launched a manhunt for him.
Meanwhile, the owner of the lorry has been granted 14 days to show cause why the lorry should not be forfeited to the state.

If Pro. Wajakoyo becomes the president, which is likely to happen, they will be pardoned and perhaps they will be employed in the ministry of agriculture.

If only our Courts would slap such punishment on our corrupt politicians. Kenya would be a nice place to live in!

What of the thieves of public money? Those walking free after stealing and are grilled by you before being released and given lenient bond terms? How many years for those? Besides, bang never killed anyone, corruption does. Start there then we will have a cause celebre’! Infact, why don’t you be giving us a monthly update on the corruption cases you pompously arrested and grilled but are free. Give us that.

That’s a harsh one for such. I wish the same energy was used to fight the embezzlement of public funds. Helpless people hopeless laws

The drug barrons in Kenya are walking freely , corrupt leaders walking freely, their cases takes years and years before they are finished and sometimes aquited without being jailed or return what they stole but these two men who were just looking for their families are now given 50years in jail… A person who takes away someone’s life is given five years in jail… In Kenya if you don’t have money you will suffer more but if you have it you will freedom even if you kill someone….
