Covid-19 & AIDS: Corrupt vaccine doctor exposed

Dr Kundai Chinyenze, she is accused of selling sensitive data about patients with the help of USAID | Donor Fraud

The International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI) is led by one corrupt Dr Kundai Chinyenze.

I stumbled upon some writing online about the works the IAVI is currently doing to help find a vaccine for COVID-19. The IAVI which is stationed in Kenya has been on the forefront of developing vaccines and programmes aimed at slowing the spread of the deadly HIV virus.

It cooperates with the United States National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) which is owned and controlled by Dr Antony Fauci.

Fast forward, Dr KUndai Chinyenze has in the past been accused of breakign the doctor – patient confidentiality clause. She was accused severally of disclosing patients information to third parties.

One person wrote, It is very unfortunate that Dr. Kundai Chinyenze is the same Medical Doctor who is responsible for ensuring safety of people/research participants involved in ongoing research activities at IAVI Clinical Research Centres and of most concern is the recent unacceptable and unethical behaviour which has extended to research participants.

The clinician does not implement research procedures in ways as to protect the participant’s confidentiality. This bad behaviour that she possesses severely affects her capacity for maintaining participant confidentiality and this has been of real concern to us, IAVI staff, especially because donors who give the organization money expect IAVI staff to uphold utmost ethical standards in clinical management of human beings participating in research, yet this isn’t happening.

In addition to impacting on research participants confidentiality, rights, and well-being we fear that their safety will be severely impacted now or in the future, if this isn’t immediately addressed.

It is a known fact that Dr. Kundai Chinyenze openly discloses participant information to other people within and out of the organization, yet some of the research participants are from very vulnerable and stigmatized groups such as Men having Sex with Men (MSMs), Commercial Sex Workers (CSWs) and People Infected with HIV/AIDS (some known within communities where they come from) and this level of non-confidentiality continues to expose the affected research participants to further stigmatization and social risks and potential harms.

How can a medical doctor who has the responsibility of providing medical expertise and oversight for research and for addressing safety concerns for research participants be the same one who violates some of the associated medical principles?

Of more concern is that staff are aware of these unacceptable practices by Dr. Kundai Chinyenze but are gagged and in serious fear of the consequences of openly discussing their concerns with other staff internally or relevant authorities externally.

One member of staff was seriously frustrated for not being able to navigate and stop these malpractices. The staff member resigned after working only for a few months for not being able to withstand and control the rampant integrity issues that is being perpetrated by senior staff at the organization.

Staff mistreatment

IAVI is also accused of mistreating staff members, so much, those believed to be ethical in an unethical institution.

There are rampant incidences of MIS-USE OF AUTHORITY at IAVI. Staff have been closely following issues related to abuse of office and at IAVI and discrimination of staff, especially of Kenyan nationality, especially by staff of foreign nationality working with cahoots with either the Human Resource office in New York or other staff Locally.

Continued staff concerns and dissatisfaction with the casual manner in which IAVI has been handling these very critical staff issues is on the rise.

concerned IAVI Staff have consistently raised issues over the last couple of years and months but these have not been acted upon. There is rampant mis-use of Authority by the Kenyan Director (Dr. Anatoli Kamali) who colludes with Junior staff to undermine and terminate contracts of other staff; Anatoli continues to commit injustices on Kenyan staff.

Dr. Anatoli Kamali, staff are concerned about how the organisation and you, continue to violate the Kenya employment regulations and perpetrate numerous improper labour practices that borders on corrupt morals at IAVI.

What concerns most is even with senior management being aware of such malpractices, Anatoli continues to enjoy his status at IAVI and continues to earn from Donor money in complete disregard of local regulation.

There is also rampant misuse of Authority by Infringement on privacy of staff by other senior staff, one notorious one being the Medical Director, Dr. Kundai Chinyenze. This high-level unprofessionalism and misuse of authority and impunity as practiced by this senior staff member within the office and condoned by the Director of the Kenya office, (Dr. Anatoli Kamali) and HQ HR is sickening. Particularly serious is the practice of visiting staff personal doctors secretly by senior staff within the Nairobi office and using medical information obtained to recommend termination of staff contracts.

The IAVI Medical Director (Dr. Kundai Chinyenze), who to make matters worse is a foreign national and is known to at times work illegally in Kenya without a valid work permit is particularly notorious of perpetrating such acts.

We established that she works in cahoots (with) and enjoys the protection (of) Anatoli and some senior staff within the HR department because despite reports made in the past about this bad behaviour, no action has been taken on her and her accomplices. During such secret visits, Dr. Kundai (and her accomplices) usually seek details about staff health status/conditions for malicious purposes and we highly suspect that information obtained is used to discriminate against staff and a basis for staff termination. Besides being infringement on staff confidentiality/privacy, it is truly against employment act in Kenya.
