Kenyan Bulletin has received information from credible sources that the Retired immediate former president Mwai Kibaki has been rushed to Nairobi Hospital in a critical condition with difficult breathing problems.
Mr Kibaki has been battling a recurrent knee problem after sustaining an injury in a road crash in Machakos in 2002. This is following his longterm ailments that have been keeping his doctors on fulltime high alert.
The almost Octogenarian retired Head of State is reported to have developed profound breathing problems yesterday, 5th Sunday, morning which raised alarm during this fatal COVID-19 pandemic times.
His Private Secretary Ngari Gituku while speaking to a source confirmed that Mzee Mwai Kibaki developed breathing complications which prompted his team to rush him to The Nairobi Hospital for further checks.
While speaking to Kenyan Bulletin news desk, Private Secretary Ngari Gituku confirmed to us that the retired President was at the Nairobi Hospital on Saturday, 4th April, for his routine checks and the doctors cleared him as there was nothing to raise alarm.
However, on Sunday morning, Ngari told a local tabloid in a phone conversation that he received a call from Kibaki’s home where he had developed breathing problems.
He is currently at the Nairobi Hospital awaiting further checks.
He was first admitted to The Nairobi Hospital on January 20, 2004. His medical team at the time said they found a blood clot in his right leg.
In August 2016, the former leader underwent surgery at Netcare Sunninghill Hospital in South Africa to remove a blood clot in a vein in his neck.
