The Government of Kenya is one big tiring and incompetent system.
After announcing that hotels are opened and that the workers need to get tested once before they work, which actually is not even how this thing should be done, the government now says there are no test kits.
Donated Covid-19 test kits, according to a blog that deleted its content after getting threatened by the same government, have been hijacked and now in private hands.
The Ministry of Health is a crime scene which has not changed contrary to favourable opinions about Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe.
The testing of hotel workers which was supposed to cost about Sh1000, is now in jeopardy, it is a sham as most of the hotel industry workers are directed to a private clinic know as Lady Northley Dental clinic along
State house road.
There, the queues are enormous and there’s no one even observing social distancing, giving credence to the claim that ‘it seems the govt doesn’t have the numbers and all they do it try to infect more people’
We’ve heard such claims from people who tested negative but are still held at hospitals and quarantine centres, waiting for days and weeks on end for their certificate of clearance, most of the time being mixed with new suspected COVID-19 patients. What is really happening?
Now at Lady Northley Dental clinic along State house road, Ministry of Health and Nairobi Government officials are said to be selling the certificate to people they haven’t even tested.
A person anonymously wrote:
We’ve been coming here for the past three days
queuing in long lines ( no social distancing)
there’s no testing going on here and everyday we
come we are told to be patient since they are out
of testing kits and they will be brought by the
M.O.H officials
But we’ve come to learn that as we stand in long
queues, hoping to get tested, there are cartels
from Kanjo and Ministry of Health who are inside
issuing certificates to big hotels who’s staff have
not come even been tested. So it’s not about the
testing the virus, but it’s about making money.
After demanding for answers, we were dispersed
and chased by police..
Something is amiss in this country and we are past redemption, the economic collapse which had started pre -Coronavirus will surely come and the world might never be the same again.
In the estates, such recklessness by the govt has forced Kenyans not to continue following directives.
The govt of Kenya has been exposed as fearmongers with no plans beyond daily announcement of figures, wear face masks, social distance, stay at home.
It is not surprising that some respectable quarters have begun saying the figures are fake.
Time will tell.
