Danstan Omari has given an update on the DCI- Matiang’i wrangle.
This came after former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i refused to record a statement of data from the DCI headquarters.
He alleged that matiang’i was interrogated for almost 10 minutes.
Danstan claims that the question asked were about his properties and not what he was accused of.
Matiang’i was accused of staging his Karen Resident.
Some of the charges that have been put against the former CS is that he caused the publication of false information contrary to Section 23 of the Computer Misuse and Cyber Crimes Act of 2018 among other offenses.
“The question asked were only about his properties,” Danstan said.
Matiang’i was advised by his lawyers to not say anything outside what the summons was.
He was also told to invoke article 49 and not to answer anything, to which he complied.
The DCI said they had to consult and later make a decision.
Lawyer Danstan claims that the DCI has been consulting for 6 hours in the boardroom and they are yet to give any verdicts.
The list of people who accompanied them included; Rarienda Constituency Member of Parliament Otiende Omollo, Wakili Eugene Wamalwa, Honourable Stephen Madoka, and Senior Mogeni Erick.
