Former failed footballer MacDonald Mariga is sending messages to Kenyans seeking their support in the upcoming Kibra parliamentary by-election.
Hello (Name), naomba kukujulisha nitang’ang’ania kiti cha MP wa Kibra katika uchaguzi mdogo ujao. Naomba kura yako. Nakutakia wikendi njema. STOP “456”9″5#
Kenyans on Twitter have taken an issue with this kind of campaigns with many questioning where the aspirant got their mobile numbers.
Some are blaming Safaricom’s failed systems and tagging Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to intervene.
Here are some that Kenyan Bulletin sampled.
@SafaricomPLC who gave Mariga my number!?? This is a breach of privacy. Kinoti @DCI_Kenya get to the bottom. Someone is giving out our numbers without our express consent https://t.co/mvT8gr93LX pic.twitter.com/Gd2Zu9jai2
