Political alignments and realignments are taking shape as each party tries to outdo one another and put its house in order ahead of the much hyped 2022 General Election.
Leadership of Opposition parties Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), Wiper Party as well Amani National Congress (ANC) have continued to strengthen their support base in readiness for an epic battle.
Whereas Wiper announced it would be rebranding soon and change its name, ODM and ANC on the hand either prevailed on renegades or received new members.
Latest to join the Orange fold was Rhoda Bella Kisiang’ani, daughter of political scientist Edward Kisiang’ani
Kisiang’ani has been very critical of ODM leader Raila Odinga and has an apparent bias towards Deputy President William Ruto.
“Today we welcomed into the party Madam Bella Rodah Kisiang’ani, daughter of Prof. Edward Kisiang’ani. She is full of energy and got the oomph to help in building a stronger movement,” the Raila-led outfit said.
On her part, Bella expressed her commitment to champion party ideals which she noted were inclusive and cared for all including persons living with disabilities.
“Thank you for welcoming me to the party. I am looking forward to serving Kenyans and fulfilling the ODM agenda ODM is the only party that cares for all and is all inclusive especially to the minorities i.e persons with disabilities, youth and women,” she stated.
Away from the Orange House, ANC party chief Musalia Mudavadi recently made peace with rebel Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala.
Malala who had in the recent past been reading from a different script met a church funtion in Nairobi where he declared his loyalty to Musalia whom he called his political father.
“Today in this church, I want to say this. I know I made remarks that did not go well with you. As a youth leader, my first step is to ask for forgiveness. If I wronged you, forgive me, bless me as your son so that we can move forward,” he pleaded on September 7.
