DCI Arrests More People In The 72 Million ATM Heist – Photos

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) this morning announced that it has arrested more people in connection with the Kshs. 72 million stolen at StanChart Bank Nairobi West.

The four who are members of the security forces were posted on DCI Twitter feed this morning.

‘Three National Police Service (NPS) Constables; Simon Gichui, Florence Karuku & Caroline Waithera & Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Corporal-Eunice Wangari were last night arrested by Special Crimes Prevention Unit (SCPU) Detectives in Connection with the ATM Heist at Nairobi West. A motor vehicle suspected to be proceeds of the crime kept as Exhibit’, DCI wrote.

Three weeks ago, men posing as police officers stole 13 bags of money worth KSh72 million, from the Standard Chartered Bank and G4S in Nairobi.

“The officers who were escorting the cash turned out to be robbers and demanded all their phones and offloaded the cash to another car make Toyota Noah that emerged and they made away with 13 bags of cash with roughly Sh72 million,” the police signal said
