Detectives rescue two abducted minors at the Malaba boarder

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives have rescued two children at the Malaba boarder while attempting to cross into the neighboring Uganda.

The two minors aged between 4 and 8 years were abducted by their house help from their Nairobi home on Saturday.

DCI issued a statement on Sunday saying that the 32-year-old Scovia Namataka (house help) was arrested together with other two accomplices at the Malaba border in Busia. 

DCI further stated that detectives based in Buruburu, Nairobi worked with their counterparts at the Busia border to intercept the suspect who was in a bus en-route Uganda.

Namataka abducted the two children while their parents were out of Nairobi to attend a burial in Meru.

She suspect is in police custody awaiting to be arraigned in court on Monday.
