DPP Noordin Haji ordered for the immediate arrest of Governor Mike Sonko.
Speaking at a presser on Friday, DPP Haji stated that Sonko was to be arrested over graft adding that there is sufficient evidence for prosecution.
The DPP also warned against intimidation of law enforcement officers who will be prosecuting the case.
Haji claimed that the suspects tried to hide evidence while detectives were pursing the trail.
Sonko will be charged with conflict of interest arising from having received monies from the county while serving as governor,.
He will also face charges of unlawful acquisition of public property, money laundering and other economic crimes.
The DPP has at the same time warned Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu and his Samburu counterpart Moses Lenolkulal against opening parallel offices and abide by a ruling by the Senate Deputy Speaker Kindiki Kithure.
