On Tuesday, July 28, three years after the murder of then Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) official Chris Msando, his family paid for an obituary on the Daily Nation while celebrating the memorial of the slain information and communications technology (ICT) manager.
“We ask all relatives, friends and well-wishers to have a special prayer for Chris’s soul on this day since we cannot assemble for memorial service. Days have turned into three years since when you were brutally murdered. As for your family, the memory of you will never grow old. Your life to us was a blessing and you were loved beyond measure. We miss you, Chris,” an excerpt of the obituary reads.
The family went on to mourn Msando who was found murdered on Saturday, July 28, 2017, at Muguga Forest in Kikuyu.
"No dead voters will rise on my watch"- Chris Msando.
Painful that instead, on this day 3 years ago, your own colleagues led you to the slaughter house.
Like Judas, they sold you for thirty-cents.
We will find justice for you, no matter how long it takes #RIPChrisMsando https://t.co/QPmqpb3YjK

Chris Msando was executed before the heated 2017 General Election in which President Uhuru Kenyatta defeated ODM leader Raila Odinga.
In January this year, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria who offered information to the police on Msando’s death in July 2017 after reportedly being tipped off by members of the public threatened to sue anyone who linked him to the murder.
On May 16, Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi also threatened to disclose the whereabouts of the killers, a move which irked ODM MP Samuel Atandi who called for his immediate arrest.
The slained IEBC official’s widow Eva Msando has numerously asked government agencies to fast track investigations into his death, with no suspect yet to face charges in the murder puzzle.
The case has no ongoing investigations. No inquest, public or private. No charges. No suspects left. All the investigators were doing was pretending to be investigating. Yet they know the A-Z about this.
Some have alleged that the very culprits of this heinous coldblooded murder could be the ones helping in unearthing it.
Former IEBC commissioner Dr Rosely Akombe the memories of her former colleague took to twitter and asked LSK President Nelson Havi to take up the Murder Probe to the public limelight.
Now that we are on our @NelsonHavi @lawsocietykenya appreciation day, may I indulge you with a request? On this anniversary of my colleague Msando’s murder, could you take this case up in the public’s interest? As I have said in the past, I am ready to testify #JusticeForMsando https://t.co/SMv7GyjVD9

Kenyans on Twitter have asked the US exiled former IEBC commissioner to at least share the insights of what transpired.
“Dear, Rose don’t you think sharing it here will also seal the deal since so many will know the truth and you will be th’4 be safer than hiding it then shit happens and everyone comes up with conspiracy stories to cover it up! What do you think? They can’t touch you if we know,” one Kenyan on twitter posted.
One of these days Chris Msando’s name will be mentioned among the great Heroes of Africa who fought for the good of the people of this country and Africa by extension and died for it.
