National Assembly majority leader (pictured) Aden Duale has said that he wants full implementation of TJRC, Kriegler and Ndung’u land reports in submissions to Yusuf Haji-led BBI forum.
This is a position that goes against his leader in the former URP Party Deputy President William Ruto.
During the 2017 General elections campaigns, DP Ruto clearly stated that he was not for the full implementation of Truth Justice and Reconciliation Commission (TJRC) report.
DP Ruto, at a rally in Mariakani, Kilifi County, stated that the Jubilee Government will not implement the TJRC Report because it will divide Kenyans. Mr Ruto further stated that implementing the TJRC Report will re-open old wounds.
“DP Ruto trashed the TJRC report because it names him and over 400 other politicians and GoK officials as beneficiaries of Injustices”, wrote a Twitter user in 2017.
Today Aden Duale’s sentiments is just plain old politics of division considering that the so called Tanga Tanga wing of Jubilee doesn’t support the handshake agenda, another political analyst weighed in.
It is not easy to see that in any other way.
Building Bridges Initiative rallies is being held every weekend in different counties across Kenya.
The DP wing of Jubilee has not supported the rallies and the remarks by the Majority Leader of the National Assembly points to more divisions in the ruling party.
Will TJRC report even be implemented?
