An “El Chapo” beer has been launched by Joaqin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman’s daughter, Alejandrina Guzman, whose company has da crafted beer dedicated to her infamous, incarcerated kingpin father.
The beer is part of the “El Chapo 701” brand, which has a clothing line and coins its name from when Forbes named ‘El Chapo’ the 701st richest person in the world in 2009 with an estimated net worth of $1 billion.
“This is an artisanal beer, with 4% alcohol. This prototype is a lager, and it’s made up of malt, rice and honey so it’s good and its meant to be sold at joints that stock craft beer,” said Adriana Ituarte, the brand salesperson.
The 355 ml bottle will retail at 70.10 pesos ($3.73).
“El Chapo”, supplied narcotics around the world and escaped from two maximum-security prisons before his final capture in 2017. He was then extradited to the United States in 2017 where he was found guilty of drug trafficking charges and jailed.
