Embakasi DCI officer arrested for allegedly shooting dead a guard at hotel lodging

A DCI officer attached to Embakasi Police Station has been arrested following a shooting incident that left one person dead.

The officer, Simon Mwongela, is said to have shot dead a security guard on Monday night at a lodging in Masimba, Kayole.

The shooting incident came after the DCI officer was reportedly embroiled in a quarrel leading to the scuffle.

Senior detectives led by the Deputy County DCI Gikaro boss Mariba are at the scene of the crime to assess the situation.

This is after the police Inspector General of police Hillary Mutyambai ordered a probe into the incident.
