FIFA’s Masengo- Omba criticized for applying double standards

Fifa’s Chief member Associations officer Veron Mosengo-Omba has been criticized for rubbishing Kenyan laws while upholding the same on Ghana and Zambia.

Masengo-Omba Wdirectly wrote to Sports Minister Emmanuel Mulenga on March 30 accepting Zambia’s call to resolve election impasse in FAZ but the  Fifa official has chose to address Kenya’s independent Sports Disputes Tribunal (SDT) and Sports Minister through Football Kenya Federation CEO Barry Otieno.

Kenya is facing the same election impasse as Zambia and Ghana but the official undermines Kenya because it not regarded as a soccer powerhouse in Africa.

He signed a binding decision with Ghana’s Sport’s Minister Abdul Hamid Mustaffa on June 22, 2018 which affirmed the Government of Ghana’s right to apply its laws against illegality and criminal conduct but the manner in which he is handling the Kenya case on election impassse is raising eyebrows.

The founder of former KPL side Kangemi United, Simon Mugo said that the extension of FKF NEC’s term of office is a violation of Fifa’s regulation’s and challenged Masengo-Omba to quote fany section of Fifa statutes which allow persons neither elected nor appointed to be at the helm of FKF leadership as he emphasized that his actions are in total violation of the Fifa Statutes, FKF Constitution and the Sports Act.
