The building houses several offices including the university’s main-hall, The printery and the Vice Chancellor’s office among others.
The fire ‘accident’ has occurred when the university was planning to resume studies next month after a long break due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Fire have been common in Uganda’s primary and secondary schools but not in universities. Critics point ‘lack of preparedness’ to meet covid-19 measures for studies to resume next month.
