The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has announced new dates for the recruitment exercise that had earlier been cancelled.
In a statement issued on Saturday, October 26, KDF said the exercise will take place between Wednesday, November 27, and Monday, December 16, 2019.
Candidates who had earlier applied have been directed to make fresh applications.
“The Kenya Defence Forces wishes to notify all Kenyans that the recruitment exercise earlier postponed has been rescheduled to take place from November 27 to December 16, 2019. Those candidates who had already applied must reapply afresh,” the statement read.
The recruitment was cancelled on Wednesday, October 16, after protests emerged following changes in enlisting centres.
The exercise is expected to bring on board general service officers, specialist officers, tradesmen and tradeswoman, and cadets.
Defence forces constables and general duty recruiting will be done by KDF teams at sub-county levels.
Bogita Ongeri, the Deputy Director of Public Communications, announced that recruitment of general service officers, cadets, specialist officers, tradesmen and tradeswoman will be through applications to the Defence headquarters.
Mr Ongeri said those shortlisted for the positions of GSOs, cadets and specialist officers will be notified through the newspapers from November 16 – 20.
Those who successfully apply for the positions of tradesmen and tradeswomen will be notified from December 23 – 29.
