Frustrated Messi is tired of taking Barcelona blames

Barcelona Captain Lionel Messi has expressed his frustrations over club’s poor performance saying he is tired of taking blames for problems at Camp Nou.

This comes after Messi was accused by Antoine Griezmann’s former agent of making life difficult for the French tally man at the club.

Eric Olhats said Messi has too much control as he is making it difficult for Griezmann to adapt since his arrival last year.

Messi spoke to reporters after he arrived at Barcelona from international duty with Argentina on Wednesday.

“The truth is that I’m a little tired of always being the problem for everything at the club,” Messi was quoted as saying by Spanish media. On top of that, after a 15-hour flight, I had the tax authorities waiting for me. It’s madness.” Messi said.

The six time ballon d’Or winner has one year left on his contract after he chose to stay to avoid being sued over attempts to activate a disputed clause to leave Barcelona for free in the off-season.

The club that now lies 8th in the La Liga logs has been in turmoil since Bayern Munich beat them 8-2 in the Champions League quarters last season.

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu resigned last month ahead following a vote of no confidence as Messi continues to have his battles with the Spanish tax authorities.

The Barcelona captain was handed a 21-month prison sentence in 2016 and ordered to pay a fine of Sh259 million after he evaded tax over millions earned from image rights.

But Messi did not serve any jail time after he paid a Sh32 million fine. Spain allows  defendants without a previous conviction to serve any sentence of under two years on probation.
