Gachagua Responds to Matiangi’s’ Flight to London

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has today talk about people who are jetting out of the country to other countries in the west.

Gachagua who was indirectly referring to Fred Matiang’i said that money was being transported to individuals’ homes with aircraft.

The DP says the individuals who were taking the money are the people who jet out of the country when told to record statements.

“Some people are cowards because if they were brave, they would not be running away from the country. Those five years, they used to harass us, but they thought that we were going to harass them.

This came after former Interior cabinet secretary Fred Matiang’i was reported to have flown to London together with his family.

The DCI wanted to interrogate Matiang’i only to later discovered that he was not in the country. This report was issued by his lawyer who said the former CS was not able to report to the DCI office.

Gachagua now says that a lot of money was stolen during the previous regime by some individuals who now don’t want to be asked about the money.

Gachagua also  termed Matiang’i as a coward for escaping from the country.

“He is even scared of his own shadow because he used to terrorise those who did not agree with the government, and now he thinks that we will use police the same way they used them to harass their political opponents,” Gachagua said.

Matiang’i was also recently alleged to have been arrested by the police something that the government didn’t accept to be true. He was therefore told to release footage showing his arrest something he didn’t comply with.
