Garissa Governor Ali Korane attends high-level stakeholders consultation meeting that will see immense development in Garissa County

Garissa County Governor Ali Bunow Korane on Tuesday, 1st October attended a stakeholders consultation meeting meant to showcase Garissa Integrated Socio-Economic Development Plan (GISEDP); an ambitious development plan that seeks to enhance service delivery and also enhance livelihoods opportunities for refugees in the North Eastern County.

The GISEDP is a culmination of series of informal and formal discussion that the county held with the national government and development partners structured within 8 thematic components aligned to the county’s CIDP II.

The county boss also thanked the European Union (EU) that announced a pledge of amounts totalling at €5 million (Ksh. 567,620,865.00)  through EU Ambassador to Kenya, Simon Mordue.

EU Ambassador to Kenya also revealed that EU will partner Garissa County Government in implementing integrated plan by providing funds for TVET (1200 people) and micro credits and support for start ups for both host and refugee communities in Dadaab / Garissa county.

The meeting had in attendance other political leaders among them National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale, Mandera Governor Ali Roba and Dadaab MP Mohammed Dahiye.
