Gatundu South MP has become sarcastic of the sacking of immediate former Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri which was done by President Kenyatta while addressing the nation on Tuesday.
The President’s address was live from the Mombasa State House, in which he also announced other reshuffles in the cabinet.
Mr. Kiunjuri was replaced by Former Meru Governor Peter Munya who had also served as the Cabinet Secretary for Trade, Industries and Cooperatives.
Kiunjuri had been on spot for posing cluelessness as regards his ministry in dealing with the locusts challenge that the country is currently facing since the beginning of January.
The former CS was turned into a caricature by netizens after he asked citizens to capture photos of what they could passive as locusts and post them online for the government’s further action.
Then appears to have been his last address as the Agriculture CS, the president’s axe meeting him on Tuesday morning.
Among those to weigh in into the firing is Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria who responded to it in satire, entertaining his followers. He posted on his Facebook page, going contrary to his 2020 resolution not to make any appearances online.
“To enhance the roll out of the Incompetency Based Curriculum, I have removed PROFESSOR Colleta Suda as the CAS for Education and replaced her with Zack Kinuthia, HSC.” Moses Kuria wrote.
Also to comment on Kiunjuri’s firing was troubled lawyer Miguna Miguna, who urged Kiunjuri and his likely circle not to give in Uhuru Kenyatta’s antics but rather join him in fighting what he calls tyranny.
“To @WilliamsRuto, Mwangi Kiunjuri, Moses Kuria, Kipchumba Murkomen and Jubilee Party Orphans: Don’t fall into Jaramogi Oginga Odinga TRAP post 1969 Kisumu Massacre. Don’t surrender. Tyranny is defeated on the streets by Mobilizing Kenyans in PEACEFUL PROTESTS.” Miguna Miguna.
Kiunjuri’s sacking is yet to spark reactions from sections of politicians from the Jubilee Party. President Kenyatta is facing bits of rebellion in the Party, and the firing may be used by the rebels to bite on him, as they prepare for the 2022 political contest.
