On March 10th 2020, news outlets around the world reported that the rare white giraffe and her calf found ar Garissa’s Hirola Community Conservancy has been killed.
The Giraffe was so rare that its picture was used worldwide by conservationists and photographers alike. The pictures were viral and most people didn’t even know they were taken in Kenya.
Giraffe meat sold at sh1500 per kg
Today at 1 pm, Xpose Trophy Hunting, a Twitter page that updates about trophy hunting in Africa tweeted that two poachers have been caught ferrying Giraffe meat.

These men could even be responsible for the death of the white giraffes. Apparently part of the plan involved a lot of misdirection, blaming local farmers & communities. When it was all about the meat. Beef costs USD6 a kg, giraffe is selling for $15 a kg.
