Google has finally taken action after the complaints raised by KFCB Boss Ezekiel Mutua over raunchy songs.
In a statement by Mutua, he confirmed that the two music videos Tarimbo by Ethic and Vitamin U by Timmy Tdat are not available on YouTube to users with restricted mode turned on.
According to Mutua, the Ethic song is unfit since it promotes rape culture and violence against women.
Kenyans had also raised concern over Timmy T Dat’s explicit music which is full of sexual scenes.
Mutua insisted that the board will continue being vigilant to ensure that unpalatable content is not accessed by children.
He also urged parents and responsible adults to support KFCB campaigns to protect children from exposure to harmful content and to monitor what kids are watching during the holidays.
His message to artists is that they should all comply with the law and create content with substance and inspiring messages as opposed to obscenity.
“Content doesn’t have to be dirty to sell. We can be creative without violating content classification guidelines as prescribed by KFCB and the Programming Code,” he stated
He also reiterated that the Board will support artistes willing to create meaningful content and will deal firmly with those who break the law.
