Governor Mwangi Wa Iria Fleecing Murang’a Dairy Farmers To Fund Usawa Party Campaigns

Usawa Kwa Wote Party Leader Mwangi Wa Iria

Murang’a governor and presidential hopeful Mwangi wa Iria has been faced with allegations of reportedly fleecing dairy farmers from his own backyard in a greedy bid to boost his nationwide political campaigns.

According to circulating reports, the Usawa Kwa Wote party leader has been buying fresh milk from farmers at Sh35 shillings per litre which is criminally less than the rightful price of Sh55 per litre as stipulated by the Murang’a County Creameries Cooperative Union Limited milk price review of May 2022.

Therefore, in every litre of milk, he snatches Sh20 from the farmer.

Sources say that his factory procures over 50,000 litres every day, which means that on average, Governor Wa Iria is minting a cool Sh1m daily at the expense of powerless smallholders.

It is alleged that he has been channelling these funds to his well-funded presidential campaign which includes more than 60 erected billboards countrywide.

He also recently unveiled a fleet of more than 50 branded Toyota Prados hired out to him at roughly Sh30k per day each.

Just two days ago, Wa Iria picked Alfayo Onyambu as his running mate ahead of the August polls.

Mr Onyambu contested Kisii County senatorial seat in 2017 and lost in the Jubilee party primaries.
