“The government will announce more measures this week because the situation is worrying,” Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe on Tuesday stated while announcing the country had hit 535 infections, with a record 45 announced on a single day.

“We cannot continue like this, people are not taking this matter seriously at all,” the CS said. Kagwe said security forces will strictly enforce the law and warned hotel and restaurant operators that their licences would be revoked permanently if they continue to violate the law.

This is as the report shows that from April 26, the rate of people going to work has been slowly increasing towards the baseline, meaning, more people are leaving their homes for their workstations
