Police were forced to fire in the air to disperse crowd that wanted to lynch phone robbers along Kenyatta Avenue, Nairobi CBD.
Two suspected thieves narrowly escaped death when they were cornered and beaten up by bodaboda riders for stealing a phone from a motorist.
The two had stolen a phone from a motirist while riding on a bodaboda.
They were caught by members of the public before they could escape.

Other bodaboda riders moved in and started beating them up, charging: “Lazima wawafundishe tabia, hawa waizi ndio wanaharibia watu wa bodaboda kazi.”
Police were forced to shoot in the air to disperse the angry mob.
