How handshake is a blessing to Kenyatta and a curse to Odinga

The March 9th handshake between President  Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition chief Raila Odinga is the best meal ODM has tasted the passing of the new constitution.

They are acting overzealous with an appetite to form the next to form the next government but they are lazy. They are celebrating  the handshake and sitting pretty hoping that presidency will fall in their plate in 2022. Handshake is not working for Odinga, its finishing him.

Since he became rubber stamp on dubious projects like Galana Kulalu his political influence has been diminishing. He seems more destined to retirement than President Uhuru Kenyatt6 who is serving his last term.

The handshake has cut him to size, he is feeling like he is in power but in real sense he is in opposition. Dp William Ruto is now playing and enjoying Raila’s kind of politics and enjoying it, he still knows when to politically use the power that comes with his office in government to launch projects and dish millions in church.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has the brightest jewel in his political crown. It is a blessing to him. Through it he managed to calm down Mr Odinga whose political style was majorly demos, mass action and protests. He brought him from the streets, closer to power but he doesn’t allow him to taste it. Odinga’s roadside orders are dismissed  by junior officers and the president can’t get in such arguments, he ignores.

At the end of the day he is going to leave behind a United country, his predecessor Mwai Kibaki nearly achieved it with grand coalition setting. The same that left Mr Odinga neatly cut for retirement. He lost the 2013 polls and became a permanent resident in the cold.

As the handshake crowns President Uhuru’s legacy, Raila will be called to retire together with him. This was like a curse to him now that he is only left to desperately survive through BBI.
