Recently ranked as the biggest digital influencer in Kenya, Kiss 100 presenter and vlogger Felix Odiwour aka Jalang’o has revealed how much his social media accounts and YouTube accounts rake in every month.
The popular comedian revealed that in the last three months, he made about Sh1.8 million through his YouTube channel. The former Milele presenter also said his Instagram channel brings in up to Sh3 million per month.
“YouTube sent us our first cheque in three months of Ksh1.8 million from ad revenue,” Jalang’o said. He made these revelations in an interview with a Kenyan vlogger.
His Youtube channel, Jalango TV has over 210,000 subscribers while his Instagram platform has close to 2 million followers.
A recent report by research firm Geopoll dubbed “online Influencers’ Influence In Kenya And Nigeria” put the new Kiss 100 FM Presenter and Vlogger at the top of the digital influencer table in Kenya, ranking him alongside Timothy Kimani aka Njugush, Eric Omondi, Size 8, Betty Kyalo, Robert Alai, Akothee, Dan Ndambuki Churchill, Jeff Koinangeand Maxine Wabosha the vlogger as the top 10 digital influencers in the country respectively.
Geopoll’s report was conducted in the last week of July 2020 and sought to understand how the consumer side perceives influencers. The most believable types of influencers were found to be journalists and media personalities (51pc), followed by industry experts (46pc) and celebrities such as musicians and actors at 44pc.
