Matungu MP Oscar Nabulindo is on the spot as his opponents accuse him of looting National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) kitty.
Nabulindo recently raised eyebrows after he bought three acres of land in Khalaba ward, four acres in Kholera and a posh house from Iddi Kufwafwa. The lawmaker is on a spree to amass wealth also owns Two Gardens Hotel.
But the MP’s crooked criteria of awarding scholarships to children joining Form One is also suspicious and is widely being discussed in political circles.
There is a case of one needy pupil who scored 404 marks in KCPE and was offered a chance at the prestigious Lugulu Girls’ High in Bungoma county but the MP’s office, through Faluma Wesaya and his aide Caleb Ndalira, demanded Sh10,000 bribe from the parent before the pupil could be absorbed in the program.
It is only Matungu constituency that does not have a technical and medical colleges in the entire populous Western region. The land meant for TTI that was bought by former MP David Were in Namberekeya, Namamali still remains idle as Nabulindo allocates funds which he siphons every financial year.
Kenya Medical Training College was also meant to be established at Khalaba but the land that was bought by the previous regime also remains idle as Nabulindo diverts the money allocated to these prestigious projects to fund his personal projects.
The corrupt politician actualized his father’s dream when he clinched Matungu seat in a by-election held in 2021 and successfully defended his seat a year later. The victory eluded his father Moses Nabulindo, a retired high school principal, who unsuccessfully vied for the same seat against then incumbent MP David Were.
But instaed of serving his people Nabulindo has resorted into using the opportunity to serve his selfish interest like former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala who campaigned for him in 2021.
