Just one day after uploading the 2017 General Election Data on the IEBC website, The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has now taken down the cooked data citing “typographic errors”.
“Pursuant to Article 35 that grants citizens the information held by the State as well as obligating the publication and the publicity of such information, the Commission presents the results of 2017 General Election and Fresh Presidential Election,” IBC had stated while uploading the flawed document.
The Commission has recalled the 2017 General Election data that was uploaded on the IEBC website after afew typographic errors occasioned by massive data were noted. The corrected document will be re-uploaded and shared in due course. Inconvenience caused highly regrettable.

Straight from the get-go, the document was under high scrutiny, and data presented was far from the truth, “controversial” and “outspoken” Millie Odhiambo took to Twitter after finding out the report got all her details wrong.

The report indicated that Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo and the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth lost their parliamentary bids in the 2017 General Election, further, the report said that Dagoreti South aspirant, Dennis Waweru won the seat after garnering 55,675 votes compared to the incumbent John Kiarie who got 12,708 votes.
Another error in the report was the omission of current Muhoroni MP James Onyango K’Oyoo from the list of candidates, with the winner declared as ODM Party’s Francis Ogot Ong’elle who apparently got 50,080 votes.
The timing of the flawed report and the recall pins nail to a coffin brought to light by Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria who on Monday, May 11 said that the 2013 and 2017 General Elections might have been stolen.
