Twenty three members of staff of Nyandarua county assembly have been sent packing in two months, sending chills down the spine of those allied to impeached speaker Ndegwa Wahome. Those dismissed are accused of among other things, siding with Wahome who has been facing the ouster bids since late last year. The third ouster came recently after being sponsored by Governor Francis Kimemia.

Ndegwa Wahome

Kimemia’s concern is, Wahome is using his position to consolidate his political power base and oppose him in next year’s general elections. Wahome is allied to Tangatanga wing in the ruling Jubilee party. Among Wahome orphans in trouble are Gatimu MCA Kieru Wambui, who was also stripped off membership to the county assembly service board. The witch-hunting has also seen two members of staff sacked after they posted photos of a bad road in the county on social media. “Some of the sacked staff said they were just handed dismissal letters and told “go to court, we shall meet there”.

Kieru Wambui

Kimemia has infiltrated the county assembly so much that it is just dancing to his whims including passing supplementary budgets without debate, Weekly Citizen has information. Leader of majority in the assembly Ednald King’ori a Kimemia political boot licker, filed another impeachment motion against Wahome whom a Nakuru High Court allowed to resume work until a case he has filed against the earlier impeachment is heard and determined. In the new motion that sailed through, King’ori claimed some members of staff allied to Wahome were a security threat to MCAs opposing him.
